Cleaning of Homogeniser

Purpose:To lay down operating procedure for the cleaning of Homogeniser.

Scope:  This procedure is applicable for

Responsibility:   Production Chemist

                             To supervise the activity

Pre-operating Check: Check no material or residue should be there.

Frequency:  At the completion of batch.

Equipment used:  Homogeniser

Cleaning procedure:

1.   Ensure that the switch is off.

2.   Take the potable water in container and lower the string rod into the container.

3.   Switch on the homogeniser and stir for 5 to 15 minutes.

4.   Stop stirring and remove the stirring rod from the container.

5.   Then scrub the string rod if necessary with nylon brush to remove adhered materials and then 

wash with potable water and finally with DM. water.

6.   Clean the homogeniser with dry and clean cloth.

7.   Clean the surrounding area of homogeniser.
