Warehouse Cleaning

Warehouse Cleaning SOP: Procedures for cleaning floors, furniture, and storage racks. Follow these steps to ensure site sanitation.

1. PURPOSE:

The purpose of this procedure is for housekeeping the store.

2. SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable for housekeeping of warehouse (store).

3. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

Store Department: Store Officer responsible for implementation of this procedure.

Accountability: Store Incharge.


4. PROCEDURE

4.1. Daily Operations:

4.1.1. Floor Cleaning

Frequency: Trice Daily

4.1.1.1. Housekeeping person shall collect all the waste material laying on the floor using nylon broom & put them in the waste bin.

4.1.1.2. Housekeeping person shall sanitize the floor by mopping with the schedule disinfectant solution.

4.1.1.3. Close the mouth of polythene bags of waste bin and disposed of in a scrap yard.

4.1.1.4. Housekeeping person shall clean the waste bin with clean dry lint free cloth and replace with the fresh polythene bag.

4.1.1.5. Record the cleaning activity.

4.1.2.     Material Movement Trolley, Computer, Furniture, Racks

Frequency: Once in a day

4.1.2.1. Housekeeping person shall clean the material movement trolley, glass panel, furniture & fixture, racks using muslin cloth damp with portable water followed by clean dry lint-free cloth.

4.1.2.2. De-dust the computer with a separate clean dry lint-free cloth.

4.1.2.3. Record the cleaning activity.

4.2. Weekly Operation:

Frequency: Once in a week

4.2.1. Material Containers/Boxes/Wrappers in stores.

4.2.2. Housekeeping person shall clean the outer surface of containers, boxes & wrappers by using clean dry lint-free cloth.

4.2.3. Housekeeping shall clean the outer surface of solvent drums using cloth damped with portable water followed by clean dry lint-free cloth.

4.2.4. Record the cleaning activity.

4.3. Fortnight Operation:

Frequency: Once in a fortnight

4.3.1. Racks. Doors, Windows and Pallets

4.3.2. Housekeeping person shall clean the racks, doors, pallets and windows by wiping with a damp cloth with purified water followed by dry lint- free cloth.

4.3.3. Record the cleaning activity.

4.4. Monthly Operation

Frequency: Once in a month

4.4.1. Walls & Ceiling

4.4.2. Store person shall cover all the containers laying on the pallets/racks by polythene sheet before cleaning.

4.4.3. Housekeeping person shall clean the walls and ceiling of the store by using nylon broom.

4.4.4. Tube lights & Air handling units.

4.4.5. Switch off the power supply and clean the tube lights & air handling units using clean and dry lint-free cloth.

4.4.6. Floor under the Pallets

4.4.7. Remove the Pallets and clean the floor using nylon broom.

4.4.8. Housekeeping person shall sanitize the floor by moping with the scheduled disinfectant solution.

4.4.9. Record the cleaning activity.
