Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Usage

Members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) must utilize the following specialized gear to ensure safety during fire suppression:

4.14 Jacket & Pants: Used as a primary thermal barrier. They provide overlapping coverage and reinforced protection for the body against high temperatures and direct flame contact.

4.15 Helmet: Used to protect the head from heavy impact, falling debris, and extreme heat radiation during entry.

4.16 Gloves: Used to protect the hands from heat and cuts while maintaining the dexterity required to operate valves and fire-fighting tools.

4.17 Hood (Nomex Hood): Worn under the helmet to protect the head, neck, and face areas that are not covered by the jacket or helmet.
