Cleaning of FBD (solace)

Purpose:       To lay down operating procedure for the cleaning of FBD (solace).

Scope:        This procedure is applicable to

Responsibility:   Production Chemist

To supervise the activity

Pre-operating Check: Check no material or residue of previous product is there. Frequency:      At the complete of batch or at the end of the shift Equipment used:    FBD (150 kg Solace)

Procedures for product change over:

a) Dryer:

1.   Remove the filter bag from dryer.

2.   Wash the internal part of dryer with potable water and then with DM water.

3.   Drain out all water by opening drain valve provided at lower plenum.

4.   Close the drain valve.

b) FBD bowl:

1.   Bowl first flush with potable water. Scrub the bowl gently, if necessary with a nylon brush to 

dislodge all adhering solid material. .

2.   Take care of the sieve while cleaning so that it does not damaged. Rinse the bowl finally with DM water.

c) Air filter bag:

1.  Transfer the FBD Bag to the washing area and wash the bag with hot water.

2.  Scrub the bag with nylon brush to remove adhering material.

3.  Finally wash with DM Water.

4.   After washing, the bag is place it on a hanger or proper area and allow to dry in air.

5.  Mention FBD bag cleaning record in FBD bag cleaning log sheet.

d) Gaskets:

1.   Take out inner & outer sheet metal cover of rubber gasket.

2.   Take out T rubber gasket from the housing ring.

3.   Clean inner and outer sheet metal cover and T rubber gasket with potable water & then with DM water.

4.   Clean the housing ring with a damp cloth.

h) Mention the entire activities in Daily Log Sheet.

Procedure for same product or at the end of shift:

1.    Remove the powder materials from inner, outer area of FBD, FBD trolley and FBD bag. Clean the 

surrounding area of FBD.
