SOP of Operation of Diesel generator

 In this post Standard Operating Procedure of SOP of Operation of Diesel generator in Pharmaceuticals is describe.

Purpose: To lay down operating procedure of Diesel generator.

Scope: This procedure is applicable to ................

Responsibility: Production Chemist

                         To supervise the activity

Procedure:

For starting the D.G.:

1.   Check the level of diesel in diesel tank & open the tank valve.

2.  Check the water level in radiator (check only when water is cool).

3.   Check the oil level (Engine oil) and if required add oil up to level mark.

4.   Check the belt tension by pressing with thumb ( tension not more than 2 MM) and also check the condition of belt.

5.   Start the D.G. set by inserting key in to D.G. panel and move key to ON position (Do not keep the key ON position for long time)

6.   When D.G. set operation is normal check oil pressure (oil pressure not less than 1.5 kg/ cm²)

7.  Switch ON the hooter.

8.  After ensuring that the all parameter are normal switch ON the MCCB.

For stopping the D.G.set:

1.            Switch OFF the MCCB.

2.            Switch OFF the Hooter.

3.            Press the stop lever till D.G. set in rest position.

4.            Stop the D.G. set by inserting key in to D.G. panel move the key to OFF position and remove the key

Precautions

1. Oil pressure does not less than 1.5 kg/cm2.

2. Water temperature does not exceeding to 90 C0.

3. Frequency of D.G.set in without load condition should be 52 Hz.

4. Frequency of D.G.set in load condition should be 48.5 to 50 Hz.

5. Voltage of D.G.set os between 400 to 420

6. Do not the keep the key in ON position for long time.
