Operation of Steam Pan

Purpose: To lay down operating procedure for the Operation of Steam pan.

Scope: This procedure is applicable to

Responsibility: Production Chemist

                           To supervise the activity

Pre-operating Check: Ensure that the line clearance is done.

Equipment used: Steam pan (100 liter)

Operating Procedure:

1. Open the discharge valve to remove condense water

2. Close the discharge valve.

3. Add Purified Water and material as per requirement.

4. Open the steam valve.

5. Heat to boil the content of steam pan.

6. Check that the steam pressure does not exceed to 5 kg/cm2

7. Close steam valve.

8. Unload the contents of steam pan in to s.s. Container.

9. Immediately clean the steam pan with water
