Cleaning of Coating Pan

Purpose -       To lay down operating procedure for Cleaning Coating Pan.

Scope :-        This procedure is applicable to .........

Responsibility:    Production Chemist

To supervise the activity

Pre-operating Check: -Check no material or residue of previous product is there. Frequency: -      

At the complete batch or at the end of the shift.

Equipment used:   Conventional Coating pan

Procedure for the product change over: -

1.   Ensure that the main switch is off

2.   Remove all the tablet or residue of previous product. clean the machine with dry cloth as much 

as possible which makes the further cleaning easy

3.   Clean spray gun nozzles with 70%IPA ( IPA Water)

4.   Switch on the spray and air valve to spray 70%IPA, till nozzle is cleaned.

5.   Ensure that the resultant solution that is coming out from the nozzle must be free from any 

sediment and colour specially the colour of the previous product in which the spray gun is used.

6.   Add five liters of potable water in to the pan and switch on the pan and allow to rotate the 

pan to remove any residue of previous product.

7.   Clean the coating pan and outside of nozzle with potable water till the entire residue is 

removed and then finally clean with Purified Water.

8.   Clean coating pan and spray nozzle with dry and clean cloth.

9.   Clean the peristaltic pump if used as per SOP No.:......

10.   Mention the entire activities in Daily Log Sheet. 

Procedure for the same product or at the end of shift: -

1.   Remove the any residue of previous product from coating pan and spray Gun.

2.  Clean the peristaltic pump if used

3.   Clean the surrounding area of sifter.
