SOP For sanitation program is described in this post which you can follow in the section of the Quality Assurance Department.
OBJECTIVE
This SOP has been established to describe the procedure for cleaning and sanitation of the plant.
The purpose of this standard procedure is to detail the cleaning and sanitation program.

PROCEDURE
GENERAL CLEANING
For daily clearance of product wastes, chemicals, rejected materials or any other debris use poly bags for quick disposal. Disposal procedures for waste materials and debris should be recorded and maintained.
General cleaning of all areas and floors / walls of all departments should be carried out by using the vacuum cleaner, the wet mops and dusting cloths.
Cleaning of windows should be done with dusters and cleaning solutions daily.
All surfaces above 6’ height should be cleaned / dedusted daily after the normal working hours.
Cleaning should not be carried out if a contamination hazard could occur to “IN PROCESS MATERIALS” but if it is essential it should be conducted after stopping the processing/manufacturing.
The cleaning / sanitation of different areas including the furniture and fixture should be done as follows and if required the frequency can be increased on request.
Clean wash rooms sinks and surroundings, replenish soaps and Replace hand towels/ tissue rolls once in a day.
Cleaning materials to be used are:
Wet mops
Detergent solutions / liquid soaps (teapot, Vim etc.)
Vipers
Dusters
Scrubber / polisher / glass cleaner
Disinfectant solutions i.e. Dettol, Phenyl, Sodium Hypertonic if bleach is required.
Insecticides
CARE OF CLEANING MATERIALS
Wet mops: The mop heads should be rinsed in clean water and then in disinfectant solution. After mopping, it should be thoroughly washed with plenty of water and put to stand on end to dry. This should be done immediately after use.
Buckets should be thoroughly washed with Vim and detergent solution, and then turned upside down to drain.
If bleach (Sodium Hypertonic Solution) is to used for cleaning, it must not be left on floor having Vinyl or Formica coverings but should be immediately cleaned to avoid masks and fading of colors. Containers of bleach must not be placed on any surface other than the floor.

STERILE AREA
Cephalosporin Area
Above-mentioned area IS subdivided into washing rooms, filling rooms, sealing rooms & adjacent areas (cool downs, buffers, sterile area gowning and degowning rooms)
Sterile area cleaning procedure is different as with other areas of Oral Section.
CLEANING, MOPING AND FUMIGATION OF STERILE AREA
PROCEDURE
General cleaning is done in the whole sterile area twice a day.
Mop the whole sterile area except filling & change rooms with disinfectant. The disinfectant solutions are 70% IPA or 5% Phenol solution alternatively.
The cleaning of sterilizers & autoclave is done with distilled water & disinfectant solution internally using lint free duster.
The trolleys of sterilizers are also washed with distilled water.
Trays are washed with distilled water.
Fumigation is done in the vials washing area after every week using KMnO4 & Formalin solution.
DECARTONING ROOMS (VIALS)
Procedure for Daily Cleaning:
Floor will be cleaned with a brush two times daily.
Floor will be wet mopped two times daily.
Waste bin will be emptied three times daily.
Mirror Doors, Door Handles and Door Closer will be cleaned once in a day.

Floor, washbasins & walls will be cleaned with liquid detergent (Harpic) & powder detergent (Vim) three times daily.
Waste bins will be emptied three times daily.
Toilets will be cleaned with toilet cleaners/ acids once a day.
Walls will be washed once a day.
Procedure for Weekly Cleaning:
Switchboards and tubes lights will be cleaned on weekly basis.
Exhaust fans will be cleaned on weekly basis.
Drains of washrooms will be cleaned on weekly basis.
Procedure for Preparation of Mopping Liquid
Take 05 liter of clean water and mix 20ml dettol with surf in it, shake it well and then use it for the mopping of the plant.
Floor polisher does polishing of the floor.
