Determination of humidity and relative humidity by using hygrometer

1.0   OBJECTIVE:

To lay down a procedure for determination of humidity and relative humidity by using hygrometer.

2.0   SCOPE:

This SOP shall be applicable to Q.C/ Production Dept.

3.0   RESPONSIBILITY:

3.1    Doing: Q.C Analyst/ Production Pharmacist.

3.2    Checking: Q.C-Manager/ Production-Manager.

4.0   ACCOUNTABILITY:

4.1    Head of the Q.C Department/ Head of the Production Department.

5.0   MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:

5.1    Hygrometer.

5.2    Purified water.

6.0   PROCEDURE:

6.1    Ensure that the instrument is clean according to SOP.

6.2    Operate equipment according to SOP.

6.3    Record the temperature of the dry and wet bulb and record the values in annexure-2.

6.4    Calculate the relative humidity value from the chart as given in the annexure-1.

6.5    Frequency:

6.5.1  Temperature and relative humidity to be taken 3 times (morning, afternoon & evening) in a day.

6.6    Acceptance criteria:

6.6.1  Temperature: NMT 25oC.

6.6.2  Relative humidity: NMT 60%.
