SOP for operation of Multi mill

Purpose: To lay down operating procedure for the operation of Multi mill.

Scope: This procedure is applicable to ................

Responsibility: Production Chemist

                           To supervise the activity

Pre-operating Check: Ensure that the line clearance is done.

Equipment used: Multi mill (GMP models)

Operating Procedure:

1. Ensure that the switch is off.

2. Check the integrity of s.s.screen used for milling process

3. Place the required size of s.s. Screen on screen holding plate and mount the holding plate on the two studs. Lock by rotating clamp with wing nuts.

4. Ensure that the blades are rotating without touching the s.s.screen

5. Mount the hopper.

6. Set the speed of machine

7. Tightly tie a clean polythene bag open at both end at outlet of multi mill and

keep container having polythene bag.

8. Switch on the multi mill

9. Set the direction of blade as per requirement ( backward / forward)

10. Charge the materials gradually in hopper so that there should be no extra load on the multi mill.

11. Change the container of milled material as when required by switching of

Multi mill.

12. Remove the container of milled material

13. After completion of milling switch off the multi mill and clean it.
