1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To
lay down a procedure for the preparation of the Dettol 2.5% solution for
cleaning purposes and before entering in working areas.
2.0 SCOPE:
This
SOP shall be applicable to all the working areas of the department.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1
Primary: Sanitary
supervisor.
3.2
Secondary:
Helper/sweeper.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1
Head of the Department.
5.0 MATERIAL AND
EQUIPMENT:
5.1
Conc. Dettol
5.2
Purified water.
5.3
Bucket/bowel.
5.4
Stirrer (for
mixing).
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1 PRECAUTIONS:
6.1.1
Take all
necessary safety measures during preparation of solution.
6.1.2
Wear goggles.
6.1.3
Wear appropriate
protective gloves.
6.1.4
Wear respiratory
full face mask with appropriate filter where applicable.
6.1.5
In case of
emergency inform supervisor and contact medical help.
6.1.6
Prepare solution
on daily basis according to the requirement.
6.2 METHOD:
6.2.1
Take a S.S. bowl
to produce 2.5% Dettol solution.
6.2.2
Add purified
water 500ml in the S.S. bowl.
6.2.3
And then add
25ml of conc. Dettol in it.
6.2.4
Mix it
thoroughly with the stirrer.
6.2.5
And finally make
up the volume 1000ml (approx. 475ml add).
6.2.6
Mix it again
thoroughly.
6.2.7
It can be used
as disinfecting surfaces, cleaning of equipments and before entering in working
areas as hand wash.
