To
lay down the operating procedure of Vacuum Pump for filtration of mobile phase.
2.0 SCOPE:
This
shall be applicable to the Vacuum
Pump of Quality Control Instrument Laboratory.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

Technical
Assistant/ Helper.

Q.C Analyst.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1
Manager-Quality
Control.
5.0 MATERIAL AND
EQUIPMENT:
5.1
Vacuum Pump.
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1
Ensure that the
instrument is clean. Follow the SOP.
6.2
Ensure that unit
is placed on sturdy & leveled surface.
6.3
Ensure that all
the connections of the equipment are proper.
6.4
Attach a silicon
or rubber tubing to the outlet of the vacuum pump & attach other terminus
of the tube to the required apparatus or equipment e.g. filtration assembly or
vacuum oven.
6.5
Ensure that whole
system is ready for startup of suction.
6.6
Turn on the mains
as well as button of the vacuum pump.
6.7
After vacuum
creation activity is completed, turn off the pump.
