1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To
lay down the procedure for cleaning of sieve shaker.
2.0 SCOPE:
This
shall be applicable to the Sieve shaker of Quality Control Instrument Laboratory.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

Q.C Analyst.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manager-Quality
Control.
5.0 MATERIAL AND
EQUIPMENT:
5.1
Sieve shaker.
5.2
Soap solution.
5.3
Tap water.
5.4
Purified water.
5.5
Soft sponge or
brush.
5.6
Oven.
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1
Switch OFF the
main power and instrument ON/OFF button OFF.
6.2
Dismantle all the
sieves and wash with water one by one.
6.3
Wash only by using
soap solution and tap water with soft sponge material to clean the sieve,
finally rinse with purified water.
6.4
Dry it in oven at
105oC for 1 hour, keep at appropriate place.
6.5
Affix the “CLEANED” label and fill the “Cleaning Equipment Log Book”.
6.6
Precautions:
6.6.1
Ideally, test
sieves are cleaned using only a low-pressure air jet or a liquid stream.
6.6.2
If some apertures
remain blocked by test particles, careful gentle brushing may be used as a last
resort.
6.7
Frequency:
6.7.1
Clean regularly
after use.
