Refrigerator cleaning SOP



1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for cleaning of Refrigerator.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Refrigerator of Quality Control Instrument Lab.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Technical Assistant/ Helper.
3.2  Q.C Analyst.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Refrigerator.
5.2  Dry lint free cloth (2 pieces).
5.3  Purified water.
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Put “OFF” the main switch.
6.2  Remove all the materials from the refrigerator and carefully store them in air condition room.
6.3  Defrost the refrigerator.
6.4  Mop the inner surface of the refrigerator with water.
6.5  Dry mop the refrigerator and then clean it with soap solution.
6.6  Again mop it with water and clean with dry cloth.
6.7  Switch on the refrigerator and allow the temperature to attain a constant value.
6.8  Transfer all the containers back into the refrigerator.
6.9  Cleaning is to be done once in a week.
6.10    Affix the “CLEANED” label and fill the “Cleaning Equipment Log Book”.
6.11    Check the temperature daily and record it.
6.12       Temperature range of refrigerator: 4oC ± 2oC.
6.13    Temperature range of deep freezer: 3oC ± 2oC.
