FRIABILATOR Cleaning SOP
1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for cleaning of Friabilator.
2.0 SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Friability apparatus of Quality
Control Instrument Lab.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1 Technical Assistant/ Helper.
3.2 Q.C Analyst.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1 Manager-Quality Control.
5.0 MATERIAL
AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1 Friabilator.
5.2 Clean cloth.
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1 Before starting and after completion of friability test clean the
Friabilator.
6.2 Switch “OFF” the instrument.
6.3 Switch “OFF” the main power supply.
6.4 Remove the knob on the shaft by pressing the button on the knob and
pull the knob out.
6.5 Pull the “outside drum” out from the shaft carefully. Similarly,
remove the “inside drum” by pulling it outside.
6.6 Remove the detachable disc from the drum by pulling it outside of
both the drums.
6.7 Clean both the drums with clean cloth.
6.8 Remove both the trays.
6.9 Clean the trays with clean cloth.
6.10 After cleaning put the drums and trays back on its position.
6.11 Affix the “CLEANED”
label and fill the “Cleaning Equipment
Log Book”.
