Ferric Chloride Solution R2 Reagent Preparation SOP

Title: Standard operating procedure of Ferric Chloride Solution R2.

1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure of Ferric Chloride Solution R2 for Laboratory use.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Quality Control Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Q.C Pharmacist.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
4.2  Head of the Q.C Department.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Glassware (one 1000.0ml beaker, one stirrer, one pipette).
5.2  Analytical weighing balance.
5.3  13.0g of Ferric Chloride.
5.4  Purified water (q.s).
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Weigh 13.0g of Ferric Chloride; operate analytical weighing balance according to SOP.
6.2  Take a beaker of 1000.0ml.
6.3  Add 13.0g of Ferric Chloride in sufficient quantity of purified water. Mix it by using magnetic stirrer.
6.4  And make up the final volume up to 1000.0ml with purified water.
