Ferric Ammonium Sulphate Solution R6 Reagent Preparation SOP

Title: Standard operating procedure of Ferric Ammonium Sulphate Solution R6.

1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure of Ferric Ammonium Sulphate Solution R6 for Laboratory use.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Quality Control Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Q.C Pharmacist.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
4.2  Head of the Q.C Department.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Glassware (one 100.0ml beaker, one stirrer, one pipette).
5.2  Analytical weighing balance.
5.3  20.0g of Ferric Ammonium Sulphate R.
5.4  10.0ml of a 2.8% v/v solution of sulphuric acid R.
5.5  Purified water (q.s).
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Weigh 20.0g of Ferric Ammonium Sulphate R; operate analytical weighing balance according to SOP.
6.2  Take a beaker of 100.0ml.
6.3  Add 20.0g of Ferric Ammonium Sulphate R in 75.0ml of purified water R and 10.0ml of a 2.8% v/v solution of sulphuric acid R.
6.4  Shake it by using magnetic stirrer.
6.5  Dilute it to 100.0ml with purified water.
