Electronic Analytical weighing balance
1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To
lay down the procedure for cleaning of Electronic Analytical weighing balance TE 214S Sartorius.
2.0 SCOPE:
This
shall be applicable to the Electronic
Analytical weighing balance TE 214S Sartorius of Quality Control
Instrument Lab.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

Assistant/ Helper.

5.0 MATERIAL AND
EQUIPMENT:
5.1
Electronic Analytical weighing balance TE 214S Sartorius.
5.2
Clean dry soft
cloth.
5.3
Detergent soap.
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1
Switch “OFF” the instrument:
Press off button.
6.2
Switch “OFF” the
main power supply.
6.3
Clean the
balance/scale & glass doors using a piece of cloth which has been wet with
a mild detergent (soap).
6.4
After cleaning,
wipe down the balance/scale with a soft, dry cloth.
6.5
Clean the glass
doors with clean dry cloth daily to remove dirt.
6.6
Removing
and Cleaning the Weighing Pan:
6.6.1
Lift up and remove
the weighing pan together with the pan support by gripping them from under the
shield ring. Make sure that you do not damage the weighing system in doing so. Clean properly.
6.7
Cleaning Stainless
Steel Surfaces:
6.7.1
Clean all
stainless steel parts regularly.
6.7.2
Remove the
stainless steel weighing pan and thoroughly clean it separately.
6.7.3
Use a damp cloth or
sponge to clean any stainless steel parts on the balance/scale.
6.7.4
Only use
commercially available household cleaning agent that is suitable for use on
stainless steel.
6.7.5
Clean stainless
steel surfaces by wiping them down.
6.7.6
Then rinse
thoroughly, making sure to remove all residues.
6.7.7
Afterwards, allow
the balance/scale to dry.
6.7.8
If desired, you
can apply oil to the cleaned surfaces as additional protection. Solvents are
permitted for use only on stainless steel parts.
6.8
Precautions:
6.8.1
Remove pan &
its housing carefully if required for cleaning.
6.8.2
Make sure that no
liquid enters the balance/scale housing.
6.8.3
Do not use any
aggressive cleaning agents.
