Ammonium molybdate solution R6 Reagent Preparation SOP


Title: Standard operating procedure of Ammonium molybdate solution R6 preparation for laboratory use.
1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure of Ammonium molybdate solution R6 for Laboratory use.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Quality Control Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Q.C Analyst.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
4.2  Head of the Q.C Department.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Glassware (one 100.0ml beaker, one stirrer, one 10.0ml pipette).
5.2  Analytical weighing balance.
5.3  10.0ml of sulphuric acid.
5.4  1.0g of cerium sulphate.
5.5  2.5g of ammonium molybdate.
5.6  Purified water (q.s).
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Firstly weigh 2.5g of ammonium molybdate & 1.0g of cerium sulphate by using analytical weighing balance operate according to SOP.
6.2  In 100.0ml of beaker take 40.0ml of purified water and add slowly 10.0ml of sulphuric acid in it.
6.3  Mix it with stirrer and allow it to cool.
6.4  Dilute it to 100.0ml with purified water and mix it again.
6.5  Put the above solution in conical flask.
6.6  Add 2.5g of ammonium molybdate & 1.0g of cerium sulphate, and shake for 15min to dissolve.
