Ammonium molybdate solution R4 Reagent Preparation SOP

Title:Standard operating procedure of Ammonium molybdate solution R4 preparation for laboratory use.

1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure of Ammonium molybdate solution R4 for Laboratory use.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Quality Control Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Q.C Analyst.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
4.2  Head of the Q.C Department.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Glassware (one 100.0ml beaker, one stirrer, one 10.0ml pipette).
5.2  Analytical weighing balance.
5.3  Magnetic stirrer.
5.4  1.0g of ammonium molybdate.
5.5  3.0ml of hydrochloric acid.
5.6  5.0ml of Perchloric acid.
5.7  Acetone (q.s).
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Firstly weigh 1.0g of ammonium molybdate by using analytical weighing balance according to SOP.
6.2  Take a beaker of 100.0ml and add 1.0g of ammonium molybdate in it.
6.3  Add sufficient purified water to dissolve it by using stirrer.
6.4  Now dilute it to produce 40.0ml with the same solvent.
6.5  Add 3.0ml of hydrochloric acid & 5.0ml of Perchloric acid one by one by using pipette into the same beaker.
6.6  Mix it by using stirrer.
6.7  And dilute it to 100.0ml with acetone.
6.8  Storage:
6.8.1        Protected from light.
6.8.2        Use within 1 month.
