Ammonium molybdate Reagent R2 Preparation SOP


Title:Standard operating procedure of Ammonium molybdate reagent R2 preparation for laboratory use.
1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure of Ammonium molybdate reagentR2for Laboratory use.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Quality Control Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Q.C Analyst.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
4.2  Head of the Q.C Department.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Glassware (two 1000.0ml& one 500.0ml beakers, one stirrer, one 10.0ml pipette).
5.2  Analytical weighing balance.
5.3  Magnetic stirrer.
5.4  50.0g of ammonium molybdate solution.
5.5  150.0ml of sulphuric acid.
5.6  250.0ml of Cold purified water.
5.7  Purified water (q.s).
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Firstly weigh 50.0g of ammonium molybdate by using analytical weighing balance operate according to SOP.
6.2  Take 1000.0ml of beaker add 50.0g of ammonium molybdate and 600.0ml of water.
6.3  Dissolve it by using magnetic stirrer.
6.4  Take another 500.0ml beaker and add 250.0ml of cold water in to and 150.0ml of sulphuric acid, cool it.
6.5  Mix the 2 solutions together.
6.6  Ready for use within 1 day.
