To lay down the procedure of Aluminium
Chloride Reagent for Laboratory use.
2.0 SCOPE:
This
shall be applicable to the Quality Control Laboratory.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

5.0 MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1
Glassware (two 100.0ml beaker, one stirrer,
one 10.0ml pipette).
5.2
Analytical weighing balance.
5.3
2.0g of Aluminum chloride.
5.4
100.0ml Methanol.
5.5
5.0ml of Glacial acetic acid.
5.6
5% v/v solution of glacial acetic acid
in methanol. (i.e. 5ml/100ml)
6.0 PROCEDURE:
6.1
Weigh 2.0g of aluminium chloride,
operate analytical weighing balance according to SOP.
6.2
Prepare 5% v/v solution of glacial
acetic acid in methanol separately in another beaker of 100.0ml.
6.3
Take a beaker of 100.0ml.
6.4
Dissolve 2.0g of aluminium chloride in
100.0ml of the above prepared solution, which is explained in point 6.2.
6.5
Ready for use.
