of Reagent Refrigerator
To provide a procedure for the
operation of Reagent Refrigerator
2. Scope:-
This procedure is
applicable to in Quality Control Department.

Responsibilities:-
i)
Manager Quality Control is responsible to ensure
that procedure & formats are followed entirely as approved.
ii)
Microbiologist is responsible to operate the
instrument.

6. Definitions:-
6.1 Refrigerator:-
temperatures typically between 2 and 10
degrees Celsius (35 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit). These refrigerators typically
consist of a chamber made with a corrosion-resistant (typically stainless
steel) interior, minimizing the risk of adulteration, contamination, and/or
corrosion of contents; internal shelving appropriate for storage, easy
location, and handling of laboratory products; a compressor, condenser,
evaporator, and tubing; sensors, controls, and monitors; a temperature
recording chart and alarms for dependable long-term storage following
laboratory standards; and an emergency power supply for both
the refrigerator and alarm.

8. Description:-
8.1
Procedure:-
8.1.1 Reagent Refrigerator consists of two
compartments.
Lower is Refrigerator and upper Freezer.
8.1.2 Temperature
Range for refrigerator is 4 to 8 °C and for freezer is –19 to – 25 ° C.
8.1.3 Switch
On the apparatus.
8.1.4 Temperature
appears on the screen.
8.1.5 Different
keys are present, which are we used for the setting of temperature.
8.1.6 Take
the print out and record the readings when required.
8.1.7 If the instrument does not produce required
results or its response is poor then it should be labeled as “OUT OF ORDER”
and should be repaired or serviced from a qualified technical person
8.2 Cleaning:-
8.2.1 The surfaces of the Reagent Refrigerator can be cleaned with commercially
available cleaning
agents. Clean the
refrigerator with soft cloth.
8.2.2
It is important to ensure that no rust forming object
comes in to contact with the chamber. If any
contamination
causes rust stains on the surfaces of the chamber, such spots must be cleaned
off immediately and the area should be polished.
8.2.3 The
control panel, the plastic input modules and other plastic components of the
Reagent Refrigerator
must not be cleaned
using scouring cleaning agents or those contained solvents.
8.2.4
Lubricate all moving parts of the door using thin
silicon grease and to check that the hinge screws are tight.
8.3. Safety Precautions:-
8.3.1
Do not place
any load on the floor against the side walls or underneath the ceiling of the
chamber in order to ensure proper air circulation inside the chamber.
8.3.2
Always place
the Reagent Refrigerator in a
well ventilated area.
8.3.3
As a routine
working precaution, always wear safety mask and protective gloves when
operating loading and unloading the Reagent Refrigerator.
8.4. Calibration Frequency:-
Annually
from external source.

Daily basis temperature record
for incubators and ovens.
