Preparation Of Disinfectant Solution SOPS

Preparation Of Disinfectant Solution is Standard Operating Procedure for production area.

PURPOSE

To ensure correct and safe preparation of the disinfectant solution.

SCOPE

This procedure is applied for the production section.

PROCEDURE

  • Clean all utensils thoroughly with hot water followed by rinsing 2 – 3 times with hot distilled water (upto 70 – 80 o C).
  • Use the sterilized buckets for preparation of solution.
  • Shift all utensils into changing room.
  • Fill the spray bottles and buckets with disinfectant solution (as per composition below) and take them in the Buffer room.

Material Required:-
Measuring cylinder, glass bottles, disinfectant chemical, spray bottles, SS buckets, SS Jug (2.5 liter)
Precautions:-
  • Prepare daily fresh disinfectant solution for cleaning and mopping.
  • Prepare disinfectant solution in aseptic area.
  • Use fresh distilled water for dilutions.
  • Measure exact quantities of disinfectant and distilled water.
List of disinfectants with composition:
A.    Mopping Solution

1.             5 % Phenol Composition for 2.0 L

: Phenol (100 %)             =          100 ml
: Distilled Water               =          1900 ml

2.         0.5 % Bacillocide Composition for 2.0 L

:      Bacillocide (100 %)  =          10 ml
:      Distilled Water         =          1990 ml
    
B.    Solutions for Gloved Hands


1.            70 % IPA Solution Composition for 100 ml

: IPA (95 %)                    =          74 ml
: Distilled Water               =          26 ml

2.            70 % IPA + 5 % Phenol solution

Composition for 100 ml

:      IPA                         =          74 ml
:      Phenol                    =          05 ml
:      Distilled Water         =          21 ml

C.    Strong Fogging Solution

  Composition of Fogging Solution

: 5 % Phenol                  =         500 ml
:  70 % Alcohol              =         100 ml

D.    For Fumigation

: Liquid Formaldehyde (40 %)      =          1000 ml
: Distilled Water                           =         1000 ml



Use the disinfectant solution as per Rotation Plan
