Water bath Operational SOP




1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the operating procedure of Water bath.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Water bath of Quality Control Instrument Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Technical Assistant/ Helper.
3.2  Q.C Analyst.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Water bath.
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Ensure that the instrument is clean. Follow the SOP
6.2  And calibration of temperature indicator is within due date of calibration.
6.3  Fill and check the water level, if required fill distilled water to the acceptance level. The minimum water level is indicated by a black line on the water level indicator on left.
6.4  Switch “ON” the ring both by pressing “ON/OFF” switch.
6.5  The digital temperature controller cum indicator will indicate the actual temperature of water.
6.6  Set the desired temperature by pressing the PRESS to SET switch and adjusting the SET pot.
6.7  Approximately 1oC before the set temperature, the heater will start going on and off heater action is indicated by the LED on the DTC. Allow a few minute for the temperature to stabilize.
6.8  If the indicated temperature is less than desired, turn the fine tuning pot on the DTC clockwise or vice versa.
6.9  Precautions:
6.9.1        Do not operate without water.
6.9.2        Switch “OFF” when instrument is not in use.
