Hot Incubator Operational SOP




1.0  OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the operating procedure of Hot Incubator for incubation of microbiological media and broths at desired temperature for microbial growth.
2.0  SCOPE:
This shall be applicable to the Hot Incubator of Quality Control Instrument Laboratory.
3.0  RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1  Technical Assistant/ Helper.
3.2  Q.C Analyst.
4.0  ACCOUNTABILITY:
4.1  Manager-Quality Control.
5.0  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT:
5.1  Hot Incubator.
6.0  PROCEDURE:
6.1  Ensure that the instrument is clean. Follow the SOP.
6.2  Startup & Operation:
6.2.1        Put the power plug in the socket and switch on the apparatus and confirm it’s ‘ON’ position by red indication light.
6.2.2        Adjust the required temperature with the help of temperature adjustment knob confirm the desired temperature from the thermometer of instrument. Open the door of the chamber and place the samples which are to be incubated.
6.2.3        After the completion of incubation period, put off the incubator and remove the sample.
6.3  Precautions:
6.3.1        Avoid direct contact with surface during operation.
6.3.2        Do not open the door during incubation repeatedly.
